PHYSICS PROSPECTS AT THE ESR AND HITRAP

EMMI workshop

June 27 - 30, 2010, Eisenach (Thuringia/Germany)

>>>>>>>>>>> Talks On-Line! <<<<<<<<

Scope

The ESR/HITRAP workshop focuses on atomic and nuclear physics experiments to be performed at the experimental storage ring (ESR) and the upcoming HITRAP facility for decelerated, highly-charged ions at GSI in Darmstadt. Currently, the HITRAP facility is in its final commissioning phase, and refined or new experimental equipment is being installed at the ESR. Therefore, the time is just right to discuss the research opportunities provided by the innovative and novel instrumentation for future experiments at these two facilities. This will be in the main topic of this workshop. Another point of discussion will be how to align the current midterm research program at the ESR/HITRAP with the preparations for future experimental activities at FAIR.
