NUSTAR - Nuclear STructure, Astrophysics and Reactions
NUSTAR is a collaboration of the international nuclear structure and astrophysics community. Current experimental programmes concentrate on the SIS/FRS and UNILAC/SHIP facilities at GSI, supported by corresponding theoretical studies. The main goal is to develop, construct and operate the Super - FRS rare isotope beam facility and its related ambitious experimental set-ups at future FAIR.
Institutional Structure and Management
The organisation of the International Nuclear Structure and Astrophysics Community interested in scientific projects and activities within the FAIR Project is based on:
- a Community Council, representing the users and theory groups in general and the project collaborations in particular;
- a Board of Representatives, representing the interests of the community, and being responsible to the Community Council.
Within this frame each project, experiment and theory collaboration may choose their appropriate institutional and management structure.
- Nuclear Structure and Astrophysics Community Council
The Community Council (CC) represents the Nuclear Structure andAstrophysics Community. Members are representatives of the GSI Users Group and of the projects and activities around the Super-FRS facility. The CC formulates the policy of the community and nominates the membersand the chairperson of the Board of Representatives.
- Board of Representatives
The Board ofRepresentatives (BR) interacts with the GSI Future Project andinstitutions. The BR organizes the links and interactions of thedifferent projects and activities, gives advice and coordinates the execution of projects, the use of project facilities and set-ups and surveys the strategy of the physics programme of the collaborations.
- Collaborative projects and activities
Member collaborations are responsible for their projects and activities. They will cooperate with the CC and BR in all questions of common interest to the community. CC and BR provide advice and support to collaborative projects.
