Magnet Technology
Our group is part of the Accelerator Department at GSI and our main activities are:
- Design and development of superconducting magnets
- Cryogenics for the superconducting magnets
- Design and development of normal conducting magnets
- Field measurements of the bending, focussing and corrector magnets of the accelerator facilities
- Survey and alignment
The projects we are currently working on are:
- FAIR: The future project of the GSI
- GSI: The existing accelerators
Already finished is the work on our former project:
- HICAT: The Heavy Ion Cancer Therapy Facility
